What is Live Resin?

Live Resin refers to the freshness of the Cannabis used in the extraction process. The aroma of the concentrate itself still smells alive. Unlike other Concentrates, Live Resin is made from fresh, uncured Cannabis Flower and Sugar Leaves. The fresh Cannabis is then flash-frozen, a process that helps maintain the full flavour of the Cannabis Flower. Additionally, this freezing process also preserves all of the valuable Cannabinoids and Terpenes.

As a result, the finished product maintains the same aromas as the live Cannabis Plant itself. By not drying or curing the Cannabis Flower, a greater concentration of terpenes and essential oils remain during the extraction process. This gives Live Resin its signature flavour.

Similar to most other concentrates, You can find live Resin in a variety of appearances. The consistency and colour of the final product can change based on the original Cannabis plant material used. In addition, the overall concentration of terpenes can also play a huge role in appearance. Live resin has a higher terpene bill than all other concentrates, with a much higher presence of essential oils.

Because of these oils, Live resin tends to have a much more liquid consistency than all other concentrates. You can generally find it in the forms of Budder, Badder, Sugar and Sap. In fact, some producers have even made Shatter as well. However, it’s much more difficult to achieve the brittle consistency of Shatter when working with such a high terpene profile.
